Here’s a few things you need to know before we begin. The game will run in phases. For each phase you will have a specific task with the requirements for its result, and a time limit. The time will be very limited, so you will need to think and work quick.

During the game you may receive tokens, like the ones the guys with the quickest reaction just got. These tokens represent your personal influence, and will be used in voting and trading for resources later.

Since the time for each task will be very limited, we encourage you to resolve disputes quickly and amicably. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it will be put to a vote, and the vote’s decision will be final.

Now we’re going to play the problem revolver. Your team will be split into 3 mini-groups. Each mini-group will draw 1 problem from the stack. Then you will take turns discussing these problems, taking on the roles of attackers, defenders and judges.

The attackers will have to show how their problem may develop, the threats it poses, and the negative consequences it may have.

The defenders will have to invent solutions to the problem that the attackers present.

The judges will moderate the discussion. Also, each judge will receive a token, which he will have to give to someone he found the most convincing during the discussion.

 

7 | Ценности

Now that you’ve chosen a problem, it’s time to formulate your team values. Each of the 3 mini-groups will have a bit of time to formulate a value. Then the mini-groups will take turns presenting their values to each other. Your team will have to take account for these values when inventing solutions for your problem later.

If some of you find a proposed value unacceptable and don’t want it to be a team value, you are encouraged to discuss it and come to some agreement. If you can’t do that, the team will take a vote to discard the value. If at least 3 of you vote to discard the value, you will have to choose a new one instead.

You have discussed your 3 problems and defined your values. Now you need to vote and choose one problem that your team will work with during the game.

Второй день

1 | Вступление

Today you will work on solutions to your problems. First you will discuss the resources you have gathered during the night, and how they can be used to help you solve your problem.

Then you will play another revolver, coming up with solutions to your problem and discussing them in roles. After that each team will vote and choose one solution, which they will present to the other teams in the cluster.

The cluster’s team representatives will then vote to rate the 3 presented solutions. This rating will decide which solution will be the focus of the cluster’s final presentation later. The two other solutions will be presented if we have time.

Then you will be given a bit of time to work on your solution presentations.

After the time for preparation is up, each cluster will take turns presenting their solution to everyone else, starting with the highest rated solutions.

When the presentations are over, all players will vote for the solution they find to be the best.

The conservatives will concentrate on maintaining the status-quo and solutions that have a minimal impact on it.

After each mini-group has tried to play each role, the team will vote and choose the solution that will represent the team in the cluster vote that comes next.
